Chibok schoolgirls: Ex-Ghanaian president urges dialogue
Mr. John Kuffor former President of Ghana, , on Wednesday,
advised the Federal Government to consider the use of “dialogue” as one of the
options to secure the release of the abducted Chibok school girls.
Kuffor, who observed that the whole world had
become “nervous” over the incident, suggested that elders could be used to
facilitate the dialogue.
“If there is any issue to be settled, it should be
settled among the elders.
The former President had led a delegation of the
Nigerian Institute of Animal Sciences on a visit to the speaker.
“There is no matter that cannot be settled through
dialogue,” Kuffur added.
The school girls, said to be over 200, were
abducted by members of the Boko Haram sect on April 14.
Efforts made so far to secure their release have
failed.
Tambuwal had assured the visitors that the Nigerian
government would not rest until it had freed the girls safely from their
abductors.
“We are very much concerned as a government.
“We will do our best and ensure that the girls
return to their parents safely.
“The government is not sleeping,” he told the
delegation.
