#Bring Back Our Girls# Senegalese protest



File: In Dakar capital city of Senegal, about 20 civil society organisations marched in the street for the release of the Chibok Girls abducted on April 14 by the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, in northern Nigeria –
With the protester which are more than 100 all in red cloth shouting “Release our sisters! Release our daughters!’’ with other carrying a placard with Bring Back Our Girl written on it,
Many student who spoke their mind concerning the issue
“I do not understand how we can convert Christians to Moslems by force, as announced by the leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau,’’ Bocoum stressed.
According to him, members of Boko Haram are criminals because abduction is a crime.
“They say they do it in the name of religion but Islam has never recommended abduction of children and to convert them by force’’, he added.
Soukeyna Ndao, a member of the Association of Senegalese Jurists, regretted the weak mobilisation of African governments against the massive abduction of girl-students.
“I would have liked to see all African states protesting against this situation, unfortunately, the voices are not heard’’, she grieved.
She pledged that the Senegalese civil society organisations would keep the pressure on to call government’s attention to the incident with a view to making efforts at bringing back the girls safe and sound. (PANA/NAN

Pounded Yam

Iyan (Pounded Yam) is a known and prestigious staple popular among the highly educated and illiterate Nigerian. Iyan is what Yorubas call it. In Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Cross River and some other states, pounded yam is a choice food when having a traditional event like marriage, naming, chieftancy title awards, coronation of a new King and buffets.  Iyan is made from pounding yam repeatedly with a club like cooking utensil called Pestle inside a bucket like cooking utensil (Mortar).   We need to do all thing to bring back our girls if negotiating with the Boko Haram sect would bring back the abducted Chibok schoolgirls, the Federal Government should not ignore the option. Governor Kassim Shettima of Borno State has said that    He also felt bad that President Goodluck Jonathan did not reached out to him until after three week after the abduction in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour  He said: “Do we have any other option?
