Out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi has held showdown talks with Blues manager Antonio Conte after being frozen out of the team by the Italian. The Nigeria captain has yet to play a single Premier League match for the Stamford Bridge side since the beginning of the season. Mikel revealed on Monday that he had been working hard to play his way back into the team. “Fighting every day for my place, like all the guys are. Focus, work hard,” the 2013 Europa League winner wrote on Twitter. Former Italy manager Conte is allegedly not happy with the 29-year-old for opting to represent Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where he helped the national Under-23 team win bronze (Nigeria’s only medal at the competition). Mikel, who was signed from Norwegian side Lyn Oslo by the then manager of Chelsea Jose Mourinho in 2016, has however turned in a pair of impressive performances for the Super Eagles, guiding them to a 1-0 victory over Tanzania in their 2017...

'The Mighty are Falling' sometime it sound odd but its real as Spainish team crash out of the World Cup with a consequetive two defeat from Neitherland and Chile, this remind me of France 1998 when the french team hosted the World Cup and won the Cup only to appear in Korea Japan 2002 first round because the could make it to the knockout stage, the Spainish team also has come to Brazil 2014 and stopped by Neitherland and Chile team from proceeding to the knock out stage. The mighty has falled can't believe this is the the same spanish team in South Africa 2010 Goodbye Spain we hope to see you in the next World Cup more  

As many would have go for Spain little went for Holland, but it was a change of story as Netherland drag almighty Spain through the mud with a 5 goals to 1. At the early stage Xabi Alonso gave spain an edge with a penalty kick at the 27 th minute but reverse is the case as 2 goals from Van Persie   at the 44minute, 72 minute, 2 goals from Robben   at the 53, 80 minute, and a goal from S de Vrij blow the mind of the world off making 5 goals for netherland against 1 of the Spanish team. more

Hosts Brazil got the perfect start they wanted to the 2014 World Cup with a 3-1 win over Croatia in the tournament's opening match. The match, played at the Arena de Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, was everything everyone had expected from an opener, save for the shock lead Croatia got from a Marcelo own goal. But strikes from Neymar (two) and Oscar ensured that Brazilians, some of whom have been vehemently protesting the hosting of the World Cup, finally had something to cheer about. Questions will be asked if Japanese referee Yuichi Nishimura made the right call in awarding Brazil a penalty with the score at 1-1. Brazil striker Fred looked to have made the most of a challenge, but he got away with it and it was Croatia who paid the price. more
