Parents build lives, the lives of Christians, leaders, business men, and farmers of tomorrow even including terrorists of tomorrow.
     Susannah Wesley, the godly wife of an eighteenth century evangelist, raised a family of Christians. Outstanding among her children were Charles and John, who later founded "The Methodist Church". This church in its day represented a revival of Biblical standards in England. One day at a family reunion, a friend jokingly asked the sons, " which one of you is the better preacher? "
         "Our mother", responded one of them in all seriousness.
Though the bible forbids women to speak in congregation, faithful Susannah Wesley, through the Gospel " preached " and practised at home, helped to change the spiritual history of England.
On the other hand, let me tell you another story:
One day I visited FBI headquarter in Washington DC. One of the agents there showered me pictures of the ten worst criminals of the country. Among them was a woman. This woman had committed serious several crimes. After explaining her crime activities, the agent continued, "Unfortunately, she raised a family and taught her sons to follow her footsteps" the next two photographs were of her sons. Imagine! Three of the ten worst criminals of a country were from one family.
     In thinking of the Christian Home, we are impressed with the good a home can do. How much good can come from a Christian home with six or ten children - or even a home with two children - raised for God!
     

                      GOD GIVE US CHRISTIAN HOME
 1. God give us Christian homes!
      Homes where the Bible is loved and taught,
      Homes where the Master's will is sought,
      Homes crowned with beauty Your love has wrought;
       God give us Christian homes;
       God give us Christian homes!


2    God give us Christian homes!
      Homes where the father is true and strong,
      Homes that are free from the blight of wrong,
      Homes that are joyous with love and song;
      God give us Christian homes;
       God give us Christian homes!

3      God give us Christian homes!
         Homes where the mother, in caring quest,
         Strives to show others Your way is best,
          Homes where the Lord is an honored guest;
        God give us Christian homes;
        God give us Christian homes!

4       God give us Christian homes!
          Homes where the children are led to know
Christ in His beauty who loves them so,
Homes where the altar fires burn and glow;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

Pounded Yam

Iyan (Pounded Yam) is a known and prestigious staple popular among the highly educated and illiterate Nigerian. Iyan is what Yorubas call it. In Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Cross River and some other states, pounded yam is a choice food when having a traditional event like marriage, naming, chieftancy title awards, coronation of a new King and buffets.  Iyan is made from pounding yam repeatedly with a club like cooking utensil called Pestle inside a bucket like cooking utensil (Mortar). The yam is first peeled then washed in clean water. It is then boiled till its soft and then placed in the mortar. The pestle is used to pound the boiled yam into a dough like staple that is high in vitamins, tasty, filling and a true dining experience. President Muhammadu Buhari has responded to the BBC interview with his wife, Aisha, where she questioned his leadership. The President is on a state visit to Germany, from where he had reacted to the interview during a joint press briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The Associated Press reports that he laughed it off and said: “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.” He also said that he had much more political experience, AP reports. Aisha, in an interview with the BBC, had said that the president did not know most of the top officials he had appointed.
