PATIENCE

I recall my MUM telling me about a man in my hood who became popular for engaging in money rituals just to buy the 80's edition of the Honda Prelude. U wouldn't buy that car for 50k today.
 Some other guy brutally murdered his brother (whom their father gave cash to travel for the purpose of re- stocking their warehouse), just because he wanted to acquire the rave of the moment - Pathfinder Jeep. That same vehicle is now beta described as a coffin.
   I remember my whole street gathered to watch a truck deliver a very large satellite dish to my neighbor's house. Today a dish one tenth that size delivers 50 times the value and is in almost every student's room.
What about the Volkswagen Santana, Mercedes Benz V boot, 505 Evolution, Toyota Crown, all overtaken by latest models of Camry, Honda, Bugatti, Bentley, X6,Acura and Infinity.... Vanity!
   A lady left her true love because some rich guy then persuaded her with a golf, which
turned out to be the only car they ever owned till date. She found out too late that true love is
invaluable. A friend declared drinks because he
launched the Nokia Communicator for over 100K in 2002. Today that phone would embarrass the owner and is a joke compared to the low cost and everyday phone. What about d MTN sim card that many people
went extra miles before they bought for over 30k, today you will not buy it at N100 because all networks are begging people to even take it for free.
Just Recently BBM, that lots of Gals had to do some unspeakable tins for, just because they want to PING, is now even in Android phones like Tecno. People are still making the most horrific sacrifices over 'vanity' and make enemies over worthless material things.
What can I Say? Look back at that one thing you wanted to kill or die for years back and see what has become of it today. There is absolutely nothing you can't achieve, all you need is, to be on your ground, a little time and PATIENCE and you would thank God without
regrets.Be Wise! Life itself is Vanity.

Pounded Yam

Iyan (Pounded Yam) is a known and prestigious staple popular among the highly educated and illiterate Nigerian. Iyan is what Yorubas call it. In Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Cross River and some other states, pounded yam is a choice food when having a traditional event like marriage, naming, chieftancy title awards, coronation of a new King and buffets.  Iyan is made from pounding yam repeatedly with a club like cooking utensil called Pestle inside a bucket like cooking utensil (Mortar). The yam is first peeled then washed in clean water. It is then boiled till its soft and then placed in the mortar. The pestle is used to pound the boiled yam into a dough like staple that is high in vitamins, tasty, filling and a true dining experience. President Muhammadu Buhari has responded to the BBC interview with his wife, Aisha, where she questioned his leadership. The President is on a state visit to Germany, from where he had reacted to the interview during a joint press briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The Associated Press reports that he laughed it off and said: “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.” He also said that he had much more political experience, AP reports.
