FRSC arrests 23,287 offenders in three months April 10, 2014 by Agency Reporter The Lagos State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission said on Wednesday that it arrested 23,287 traffic offenders in the state in the first quarter of the year. The state’s Sector Commander, Mr. Chidi Nkwonta, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the offenders were involved in 26,076 traffic offences. Nkwonta said that lack of caution signs, defective windscreens and non-usage of seat belts topped the list of the offences. “We were able to arrest 23,287 offenders for 26,076 offences in the first quarter of this year. “We will not cease to enlighten motorists and enforcing traffic regulations to reduce losses on our roads. “All actions that are injurious to road safety will be checked on our roads and we will be further committed to restore the road safety culture on all road users,’’ Nkwonta said.
